Don't follow blindly, create your own!

Let me be honest here. Ever since coming out on my own, I have been struggling with finding a routine that I can adhere to. I am constantly stressing out, thinking I am not doing enough as a wannabe entrepreneur.

I always read articles about top CEOs starting their day early, catching only 4-5 hours of sleep a day, planning their day ahead with a routine and sticking to the routine. They are always on the go, multi-tasking all the time.

Over time, I've come to realise, that is not for me. Sticking to a routine made me stressed out over unnecessary things, made me frustrated thinking I am not doing enough.

The truth is, we are all different, and we work different. I like to procrastinate if I am given a long timeline. I like to be in a pressure cooker environment where I am swarmed with deadlines, and that is also when I perform best, with sudden spurts of energy to get things done. But once that energy is released, I need time to space out again. Yes I agree that does not sound very productive, but hey, how many in the workforce is really working hard ever single minute in the office? There are moments where you kill time by going down for a cup of coffee or a smoke, or simply checking out your social medias.

Just because you work 8 - 16 hours in the office does not mean you are being productive. Maybe I can achieve what you need to achieve with lesser time? Have you ever thought of that? Well I didn't at first, and that is when I gave myself hell, which in turn brought down the quality of my work.

But I have since learned that I need to balance things out, and only when I am happy, then can I produce good quality work.

If I cannot be happy with what I am doing, then how can I spread happiness through my work to others?

So, instead of reading how others manage their time, I have learned to manage my own time, according to my own personality and working style, and that is my advice to all of you out there too. Just because someone successful has a routine, it does not mean the same formula works for you. Find out what truly works for you, and create your own routine.

XOXO,
Mabel

Bangkok!

I'm finally going on a holiday this year! What a vast difference this year is compared to last year. I've become domesticated. HAHA. Wonder who can do that to me... well, only that one special person... Anyways, I'm going Bangkok with my DB peeps and I'm getting excited! It was an impromptu kinda holiday as Bangkok is not in my list of to go place. I had a bad experience the last time I was there and didn't get what the hype is about. But then again, it could probably be the companion I went with and the agenda the other time. It was more work then fun. I can't wait to get on that flight and fly away... hopefully I'll come back refreshed! xoxo, Mabel

That indescribable feeling

I was pondering to myself why people say that when you love someone, you couldn't give a reason why you love him/her. If you could give a reason, it just goes to show that you love those qualities in that person, not the person. In the past, I am a firm believer of the latter. That love has no reasons. When reflecting on my own relationship, I was thinking to myself whether is it really true. That love has no reasons. The romantic side of my thinks it's true, while the pragmatic side says otherwise. Here's what I have concluded. I love that my man is dependable, easy going, good natured, positive in attitude and outlook in life, stable. Basically the rock in my life (there's no need for any other rock, seriously). But hey... Lots of men possess the qualities stated above. But none is able to capture my heart like how he did. THAT is the reason I cannot find words to explain. THAT is why I am drawn to him and not any other guys that possesses the same qualities...

Musings of the day

This morning I was going through my insta stories and saw Tony Gaskins (I love this guy) ask me a question session. It was so informative, and an eye opener to see so many people airing their relationship issues. It put a lot of things into perspective, especially seeing things from a 3rd party POV. Seeing what sort of advice all of them are seeking, the answer is already very glaring, but they are blinded by it and chose to ignore it. The same happened for me. The answer was glaring when I expressed my feelings a few months back, but I chose to hold on. Well, no more. When I finally opened my eyes and see things as what it is, I felt, free. Free from my own demons, own insecurities. And I felt ready to move on and focus on something else. What I have learnt is that true love never leaves you doubts and sadness. I have to learn to think for myself. On that note, I have decided to take a break from my DB team. Reason is very simple. It is a toxic relationship, one that limits my grow...
